Specialist Sustainability (Import Readiness)

Your Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of ESG legislation requirements for import readiness, ensuring regulatory expectations are translated into practical and operational actions for sourcing offices, importers, suppliers, and internal business functions.
  • Take ownership of assigned legislation topics, from requirement analysis and impact assessment through to stakeholder alignment, process design, implementation tracking, and communication.
  • Monitor and analyse new or changing ESG regulations and assess their impact on import readiness, supply chain operations, suppliers, product categories, and internal processes.
  • Translate complex legislation and sustainability requirements into clear guidance, standard operating procedures, working instructions, training materials, and stakeholder communications.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, including Sourcing, Quality Assurance, Buying, Legal, Compliance, suppliers, and other relevant teams, to support effective and consistent implementation.
  • Maintain implementation trackers, action plans, risk registers, and readiness reports to monitor progress, identify gaps, and ensure timely follow-up actions.
  • Prepare concise progress reports, management updates, and recommendations to support decision-making and visibility of key risks, milestones, and next steps.
  • Support stakeholder engagement by preparing communication materials, coordinating training sessions, and ensuring impacted teams clearly understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of import readiness processes by identifying opportunities to simplify workflows, strengthen governance, and enhance implementation effectiveness.
  • Handle ad-hoc task assigned by Sustainability Manager.

Your Requirements

  • At least (Non-Degree) Tertiary education required.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG compliance, sourcing, supply chain, regulatory compliance, project coordination, import readiness, or other related business functions.
  • Good understanding of ESG regulations, regulatory implementation, sustainability requirements and responsible sourcing topics; experience with import-related compliance will be an advantage.
  • Ability to analyse complex requirements, identify business impacts, and translate regulatory expectations into practical processes, guidance, and actions for operational teams.
  • Strong project coordination and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and implementation activities in a structured manner.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders across different functions and levels, follow up on actions, and escalate risks when appropriate.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work with regulatory information, process requirements, and implementation data.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • A proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned topics.
  • Adaptable working in a dynamic environment with evolving regulations, stakeholder expectations, and business requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
