ALDI provided plenty of resources. On a daily basis, I was able to review and learn from previous audit reports and case studies related to external parties we work with. These documents helped me gain a better understanding of the current SUST requirements and standards.

Not only was I introduced to the new SUST-related laws of other countries, but I also learned to consolidate information and present my insights to the team through PowerPoint presentations. My public speaking skills have improved and I am now more confident in presenting my ideas to my colleagues and managers.

ARCHIE TANG ASSISTANT SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT Being an intern at ALDI was a rewarding and eye-opening experience. I was given the utmost support throughout the entire programme, and was allowed to observe the entire day-to-day operations flow for Ocean Freight Consolidation and the operations of an organisation.

Part of my responsibilities included preparing key performance indicator (KPI) reports that measure the situations in different countries where ALDI operates. This was a fantastic opportunity to apply my academic knowledge to use and understand various performance indicators in an actual business world.

One of the factors that makes the ALDI Internship Programme different is the support given by my colleagues. Despite the challenging aspects brought on by COVID-19, ALDI offered great flexibility, such as working from home to better protect colleagues’ health and safety. Fortunately, we were able to overcome the obstacles with the support of the buddy and mentor programmes as well as the respective comprehensive training plans. Weekly catch-ups and frequent virtual meetings were also arranged to make sure I was on the right track and able to adapt to the new environment.

All these experiences helped develop a great foundation for me to enter the workforce. Thanks to the ALDI Internship Programme, I was able to grow professionally and personally. I am proud to say I am ready for the next challenge.
