• Conducting market and competitor analyses to support global buying activities
• Maintaining the international category proposals, tender schedules, and product portfolios, all the while ensuring data accuracy

ALDI provided plenty of resources. On a daily basis, I was able to review and learn from previous audit reports and case studies related to external parties we work with. These documents helped me gain a better understanding of the current SUST requirements and standards.
Not only was I introduced to the new SUST-related laws of other countries, but I also learned to consolidate information and present my insights to the team through PowerPoint presentations. My public speaking skills have improved and I am now more confident in presenting my ideas to my colleagues and managers.
ALDI also cares about academic study programmes and the well-being of its working students. As an undergraduate, I was offered flexible working hours to help balance work and my studies.
The ALDI Internship Programme is definitely a nurturing platform for me to gain work-related knowledge and experience daily operations that will help me step into the commercial world after being an undergraduate.
Part of my responsibilities included preparing key performance indicator (KPI) reports that measure the situations in different countries where ALDI operates. This was a fantastic opportunity to apply my academic knowledge to use and understand various performance indicators in an actual business world.
One of the factors that makes the ALDI Internship Programme different is the support given by my colleagues. Despite the challenging aspects brought on by COVID-19, ALDI offered great flexibility, such as working from home to better protect colleagues’ health and safety. Fortunately, we were able to overcome the obstacles with the support of the buddy and mentor programmes as well as the respective comprehensive training plans. Weekly catch-ups and frequent virtual meetings were also arranged to make sure I was on the right track and able to adapt to the new environment.
All these experiences helped develop a great foundation for me to enter the workforce. Thanks to the ALDI Internship Programme, I was able to grow professionally and personally. I am proud to say I am ready for the next challenge.
